Strasserwirt **** Tyrolean Manor House

Punbrugge in Panzendorf

A special gem is also the road bridge “Punbrugge”, which reports from times gone by.
The predecessor of this bridge dates back to 1548, the bridge visible there today was built in 1781
built by Swabian carpenters. St. John Nepomuk adorns this bridge in the middle,
which you don’t really travel today, but which you should definitely cross.

The Punbrugge, located below Heinfels Castle, is an excellent monument to past carpentry. The bridge is the most interesting of the surviving covered wooden bridges in Tyrol. It was built in 1781 by Swabian carpenters. The bridge spans three bays over the Villgraterbach.

The double hanging constructions are made of strong trunks. The bridge is 60 m long and 4 m wide. Until 1944, all traffic on the Pustertaler Strasse was handled over this wooden bridge. Today it is a listed building.
