Cross country
The cross-country skiing enthusiast has 120 km of trails at his feet.
The Pustertalloipe as far as Cortina d’Ampezzo leads directly past the Strasserwirt (in ideal snow conditions) at a distance of 100 metres.
One of the most beautiful trails in Tyrol is the Tyrolean Gailtal/Lesachtal bordertrail (entrance about 4 km from the hotel) and the trail through the wildly romantic Villgratental (entrance about 3 km from the hotel). A visit to Obertilliach with its cross-country skiing and biathlon centre – about 15 km from the Strasserwirt – is a must.
Cross-country skiers can also enjoy the dreamlike panorama of the Dolomites on the Drei-Zinnen-Loipe in Sexten (half an hour’s drive from the hotel) to the Fischleintal. Toblach is also a great area for cross-country skiers, especially since the newly built cross-country skiing centre (approx. 20 km).
Many other cross-country ski tours for connoisseurs also lead through the Gsiesertal, about 1/2 hour drive from the hotel.
Every day a cross-country skiing toll is collected and in this process the East Tyroleans were connected to the South Tyrolean cross-country trails.
